Our newly released Cabernet Franc 2016 made entire from our grapes and aged for 9 months in French Oak, has been the most popular wine on our tasting menu lately! Easy drinking, smooth, yet complex, this Cabernet Franc exhibits an intense fruity aroma, consisting of dried cherries, Craisens, and old fashioned spiced apples with subtle hints of vanilla. Medium in body, the earthy palate tries to steal the show, but the mild acidity brings forth a jammy, cranberry taste that lingers in your mouth while your tongue becomes coated with luscious, velvety tannins.
The first competition this vintage has entered was last month’s International Eastern Wine Competition. Its first ever competition has awarded it a GOLD medal!!
Congrats to our winemaker Manolo Gomez and vineyard Manager Julio Rivas, and to our entire team. Like Manolo always says, “if you don’t have good grapes, you don’t have good wine!!”
Also in the competition for the first time was our Rose’ 2016 and Chardonnay 2016 (set to release this spring) and both were awarded SILVER! This was also a first medal for these wines.
Cheers!
