ugarloaf Mountain Vineyard is the nearest vineyard/winery to Washington, DC. We are located 25 minutes from the Capital Beltway in the Agricultural Reserve of Upper Montgomery County, Maryland. Identified by our signature red barn, silo and windmill, the 92-acre farm is the only vineyard/winery in Montgomery County, Maryland. We welcome visitors for tastings of our wines, tours of the winery, and various events throughout the year.

We are open:
Seven days a week: 12 pm to 6 pm (Last Call 5:30 pm)
Excluding these holidays: New Years Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas

In order to maximize our availability to customers, we encourage you to call if you would like to schedule appointments for group tours or visits that do not fall within SMV's normal hours of operation. • Children are welcome. Please supervise them.
  
• Dogs are welcome. Please keep them outdoors and on a leash.
• No outside alcoholic beverages are permitted on the premises.
• You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy outside.
• Outdoor seating fills up quickly. If you plan to arrive after 1 pm on the weekend, please bring a blanket and/or lawn chair.
• Indoor seating in Tasting Room is limited. Groups of more than 4 persons are required to use outdoor tables, weather dependant. If inclement weather, we cannot accomodate large (5 or more) walk-in groups in the Tasting Room.

From Interstate 270, take Exit 22 (Hyattstown/Barnesville). Off the ramp, take Maryland Route 109 (Old Hundred Road) south for 3 miles to Comus Road (at the newly-renovated and exquisite/inviting Comus Inn). Turn right and proceed 1.5 miles. The vineyard is located at 18125 Comus Road, 8/10ths of a mile short of the entrance to Sugarloaf Mountain.

This is an area of scenic pastoral vistas known for its rolling hills and farms, and devoted to the maintenance of green space and blue skies (most of the time). Our 92-acre farm abuts the scenic Sugarloaf Mountain conservation and recreation area and is within close proximity to other countryside attractions.
