In mythology, Comus is the god of revelry and merriment. The son of Bacchus and Circe, Comus tempts mortals with a life of pleasure. We promise our Comus will not work its bewitching powers in a similar fashion, but rather will turn you into a connoisseur of fine wine! Comus represents Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard's vision of Maryland red wine. A blend of the five Bordeaux varietals, it exhibits the potential for outstanding flavor depth and character in a Mid-Atlantic red wine. This fruit forward wine will pair well with chocolate and simple grilled meats. Ready to consume now, the Comus will improve with age over the next 3 years.

Comus is the signature blend at Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard, with the five Bordeaux varietals that give it outstanding flavor depth and character on par with that of any established wine region. Robust, vibrant, with an intense red brick hue, this wine has forward aromas of blackberry and raspberry evident on the nose, along with notes of butterscotch, almond and dried herb. On the palate, the wine expresses flavors of dried fruit, cinnamon and white pepper. With rich, subtle tannins, Comus lingers with hints of mocha on its pleasing finish.
