The Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard Cabernet Franc is
an outstanding Maryland red wine. Mostly Cabernet Franc with Merlot and
Cabernet Sauvignon blended in to accentuate fruit expression, the wine
demonstrates Mid-Atlantic winemaking at its finest. This complex,
elegant wine will pair well with veal and pork. While excellent now, the
Cabernet Franc will be at its best in two years and will age up to 5
years.

Building on the success of our 2005 vintage, the 2006 Cabernet Franc
demonstrates that Mid-Atlantic winemaking can compete with wine regions
throughout the world, and is fast becoming the signature varietal of the
Mid-Atlantic region. The 06 Franc is blended with Merlot to accentuate
fruit expression, and reveals aromas of sour cherry, nutmeg and rose
petal, along with layers of green tea and anise. On the palate, fresh
berry flavors dominate along with notes of mushroom and black olive.
With its refined tannin structure, the Franc finishes with hints of
white pepper and coffee.
